Releasing devices are electro-mechanical devices that enable automatic closing fire doors to respond to alarm signals from detection devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors and central alarm systems. This permits closing the door before high temperatures melt the fusible link. Fusible links should always be used as back up to the releasing device.
