The function of this item is to prevent your drawbar from rotating when you place a horizontal load above or below the drawbar. like pulling a trailer with a ball mounted on your drawbar. You can back up to your trailers, and never have to get off the tractor to line up the ball. Also, it will prevent damage to your trailer hitch by keeping the ball pointed straight up. These are made from 1/4" cold-rolled steel yet they are still pretty light at only about 13lbs.
