Holmium metal is a malleable, fairly hard rare-earth metal and is stable in dry air. It is a member of the rare-earth series of metals. It oxidizes slowly in moist air and at elevated temperatures. The metal is slightly magnetic and will exhibit a weak attraction to a magnet.
