Multiple active frequencies allow the user to accurately locate with a minimum of "ghosting" to adjacent lines while maintaining the ability continue locating past faults and poor utility conductors. Passive frequencies identify "live" and charged lines by their naturally occurring electromagnetic fields. The 8879-RF offers two passive frequencies - 50/60 cycles and RF (Radio Frequency) - allowing line locating without the use of a transmitter.
This unit was only used as a Factory Demo by Rycom Reps and has since been recalibrated and includes a 1 year factory warranty. This locator is in excellent shape with only a few light scuffs/scratches. It's a great price for still having a 1 year warranty & recalibration when this unit brand new costs $3225.00
