"FlameGuard" is a clear liquid solution suitable for flame retardant treatment to most natural and blended materials. Colorless and Non Staining
"FlameGuard" is a renewable type flame retardant designed to produce effective protection against flame propagation with a minimum change in appearance and texture of the treated material. When properly applied, FlameGuard distributes evenly, providing relaiable protection from the spread of flame.
"FlameGuard" is recommended for use on cotton, linen, wool, silk, rayon and most blended fibers. The effectiveness of a FlameGuard application to fiber blends containing synthetics should be evaluated on an individual basis. FlameGuard Flame Retardant is suitable for treating curtains, draperies, workman's clothing, bed linens, bed spreads, gloves, cotton batts, felts, mattress tickings, rugs, carpeting, mats, kitchen towels and most porous materials. FlameGuard may also be used on raw wood.
On leather or vinyl, materials that have been treated with other protectants, plastics or finished woods. As a fire extinguisher. FlameGuard is a flame retardant and will prevent most treated surfaces from igniting or flame once the source of the fire is removed, it should not be sprayed directly into a fire. Numerous specialty products containing cellulosic materials such as Christmas trees, cork, excelsior, comcobs, certain natural fibers, newspapers, sawdust, straw, and dried grass can be satisfactorily flame retarded with FlameGuard using appropriate techniques.
TOXICITY - FlameGuard Flame Retardant is of low order of toxicity, it is not a skin irritant nor sensitizer. Active Ingredients ammonium bromide in a special solution.
The FlameGuard solution may be applied by dipping, roll transfer, spraying, padding, or brushing, or any method that gives adequate coverage. If being applied by spraying, it is recommended that a fine mist be applied to the material, allowed to dry and another fine mist application applied to ensure complete saturation. Application should be moist to the touch. Sixteen ounces will cover approximately 80 square feet of material. Re-Treat every 2 years, more often if highly trafficed or used material.
